  1. Reasons for Choosing Tokyo International University Japanese Language School

My love for Japanese TV dramas sparked my interest in Japanese culture, and since I had also developed an interest in business during high school, I wanted to study business in Japan in the future. Therefore, I was looking for a school that not only provided a solid foundation in the Japanese language skills necessary for higher education but also offered comprehensive support for university admissions. My older sister had previously studied at Tokyo International University Japanese Language School (TIUJ). I had heard that the school offered thorough academic guidance and a robust recommendation system, and that many students actually go on to universities and vocational schools. Based on this reputation, I felt it would be a safe and supportive environment for my studies, which is why I chose TIUJ.

  2. About School Life

At TIUJ, the teachers provided clear and thorough guidance, allowing me to truly feel my Japanese skills steadily improving. Furthermore, beyond academics, whenever I faced difficulties, the teachers and staff were always there to offer genuine support, which allowed me to enjoy school life with peace of mind. One campus event that left a particularly strong impression on me was the school speech contest I attended during my first year in Japan.Listening to the confident presentations by senior students from Nepal and students from other countries motivated me to work even harder at studying Japanese and further boosted my enthusiasm for learning. In my Japanese studies, I used to feel insecure about reading and writing kanji and expanding my vocabulary, but in class, I prepared in advance and engaged in group work, presenting example sentences using kanji, which allowed me to learn in a practical way. As a result, I feel that I was able to steadily improve the kanji and vocabulary skills necessary for advancing to higher education.

  3. Current and Future Goals

I am currently studying in the Business Entrepreneurship and Management Department at Waseda Bunri College, where I am gaining a broad range of business knowledge, including corporate management, marketing, and financial management. After graduating from the college, I plan to join a Japanese food and beverage company to learn management and service expertise through hands-on experience in the field. After that, I plan to return to my home country of Nepal with the goal of opening a restaurant that serves both Japanese and Nepalese cuisine. Japanese cuisine is currently gaining popularity worldwide, but since there are still few restaurants serving Japanese food in Nepal, I believe there is a significant business opportunity there.

  4. A Message for Those Considering Studying Abroad

If you are considering studying in Japan, we recommend that you take the time to review and clarify your career plan before arriving. Having clear goals will help you approach your daily studies with a positive attitude. Also, while opportunities to use Japanese in daily life may be limited while you are still in your home country, it is important to use Japanese as actively as possible after arriving in Japan and to get accustomed to an all-Japanese environment as quickly as possible. This is essential not only for pursuing higher education but also because you may encounter difficulties in various aspects of daily life if you remain unfamiliar with the language. You may feel a bit nervous right after arriving in Japan, but please make a conscious effort to read, listen to, write, and speak Japanese.
TIUJ is a reliable school for those aiming to pursue higher education in Japan. We hope you have a fulfilling study abroad experience at TIUJ!
