Tokyo International University Special Recommendation

As the affiliated Japanese language school of Tokyo International University, our school offers a special recommendation system that enables students to advance to Tokyo International University.
The special recommendation system is a program through which Tokyo International University grants application eligibility exclusively to our students. A key feature of this system is that, in principle, students with Japanese language proficiency equivalent to N2 or higher and a recommendation from our school principal are guaranteed admission to Tokyo International University.
To reduce the financial burden on students and help them enjoy a fulfilling college life, we offer benefits such as exemption from application fees and tuition reductions. Additionally, students who hold a bachelor’s degree have the option to transfer into the university or pursue graduate studies.

Our school offers four types of special recommendations. Please select the one that best suits your individual circumstances.

  1. Advanced Bridge Program (Enrollment for the purpose of advancing to Tokyo International University)
  2. Recommended Entrance Examination for the Affiliated Japanese Language School
  3. Affiliated Japanese Language School Recommendation Entrance Exam: Bachelor's Degree Program (Enrollment in the 3rd Year)
  4. Affiliated Japanese Language School Recommendation-Based Entrance Exam: Graduate School Admission

Bridge Program (BP)

The Tokyo International University Special Advancement Bridge Program is a unique program exclusive to our school, made possible by being affiliated with the university. It is designed for students who wish to enroll at Tokyo International University but whose current Japanese language proficiency has not yet reached the level required for university admission.
We take full responsibility for developing the Japanese language skills of students who list Tokyo International University as their first choice and demonstrate outstanding motivation, purpose, and critical thinking. Our goal is for all participants to gain admission to Tokyo International University.

Benefits available at the affiliated Japanese language school

Skip-Level Admission System to Tokyo International University

If you achieve Japanese language proficiency at N2 level or higher by the deadline for Tokyo International University's second-term entrance exam, you may advance to Tokyo International University even if you are still enrolled in a Japanese language school program. This means that depending on your own efforts, you can shorten the duration of your "Japanese language school + university" study abroad period, thereby saving on tuition, living expenses, and other costs.

Recommended Entrance Examination for the Affiliated Japanese Language School

Students who choose Tokyo International University as their destination for further education can utilize the 'Affiliated Japanese Language School Recommendation Entrance Examination' system in addition to taking the 'International Student Entrance Examination'. The affiliated recommendation significantly increases your chances of admission compared to the general International Student Entrance Examination. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this privilege offered exclusively to students enrolled at our university.
A major feature of the Affiliated Japanese Language School Recommendation Entrance Exam is that while the 'International Student Entrance Exam' held concurrently with the first-term exam requires applicants to have passed JLPT N2 or higher, students of our school can apply even if they have not yet passed N2 at the time of the first-term exam. They can do so by obtaining a certification from our faculty stating that they are "expected to reach N2 level or higher by the time of university enrollment."
Furthermore, even if a student cannot obtain a recommendation letter from the school principal by the first-stage entrance exam deadline, another opportunity is available through the second-stage entrance exam held in February. While general applicants typically have only one annual chance through the International Student Entrance Exam, our students have two opportunities.

Admission via Recommendation from the Affiliated Japanese Language School: Bachelor’s Program (3rd Year) · Transfer Admission (2nd Year)

Even if you have already graduated from university in your home country, you can still study at a Japanese university. This is made possible through bachelor's degree admission to Tokyo International University.
Many university graduates study Japanese at our school. However, to elevate your Japanese proficiency to a business level, we recommend first learning the fundamentals of Japanese at our school, then entering the university through bachelor's admission and studying for an additional two years. The reasons are twofold: Japan limits enrollment in Japanese language institutions to a maximum of two years, creating a time constraint; and university lectures not only teach specialized Japanese directly applicable to business but also allow students to learn Japanese business etiquette and prepare for qualification exams required for employment.
Tokyo International University's bachelor's degree program (third-year transfer) offers a lump-sum credit transfer (62 credits) for credits earned at your previous university, rather than individual course-by-course recognition. This allows you to transfer into your desired faculty at Tokyo International University (even if it's in a different academic field from your previous degree), regardless of your previous university's faculty structure.
Our affiliated Japanese language school also has a recommendation system for admission to Tokyo International University's bachelor's program. Please feel free to consult with us.

TYPE 04

Affiliated Japanese Language School Recommendation-Based Entrance Exam: Graduate School Admission

For those wishing to deepen their studies—whether to enhance research capabilities in their undergraduate major field or to acquire skills for careers demanding advanced expertise—we recommend pursuing graduate studies.
Our university also offers affiliated recommendations for graduate school admission. For those applying to Tokyo International University's graduate school, you can contact professors in your field of study even before the entrance exams to discuss selecting research topics and other exam-related matters. While it is generally possible to meet university professors during open campus events for graduate school admissions in Japan, it is rare for them to offer consultations outside these periods. However, the professors teaching at Tokyo International University's graduate school have established a system to provide our students with kind and thorough pre-admission consultations throughout the year. This should help alleviate any concerns you may have before enrollment.
