From the Director of Academic Affairs
This is the time of year when the fresh greenery is dazzling and you can really feel the vitality of the trees and flowers.
On May 1, the new students visited Tokyo International University’s Kawagoe Campus 1 as part of an off-campus field trip. They toured the university grounds and participated in a fan-painting workshop, making it a learning experience different from their usual classes.
In the second-year classes, students are making plans for their future paths after graduation. While most hope to continue their education or find employment in Japan, there is much to prepare for beyond just studying Japanese in order to achieve their goals. I hope they will prepare thoroughly and steadily so they won’t have to rush later on.
From the Career Guidance Office
One month after the start of classes, we have launched courses specifically designed to prepare students for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) starting this month. The subjects required for the EJU vary depending on the university. Consequently, since many students have not yet decided on their target university, there is a risk that they might end up studying unnecessary subjects. The Career Guidance Office has researched all private universities in the Tokyo metropolitan area and, based on the finding that required subjects tend to differ depending on the “faculty” and the “Japanese language proficiency” required, explains how to select subjects efficiently before classes begin. We will continue to provide efficient, effective exam preparation guidance from the students’ perspective.
